King David dedicated these gifts to the Lord, along with the silver and gold he had taken from all the nations he had subdued:

He took the treasures of the Lord's Temple and the royal palace. He took everything, including all the gold shields Solomon had made.

In this way all King Solomon's work for the Temple of the Lord was completed. Then Solomon brought in the items his father David had dedicated, the special objects made of silver, the gold, and the Temple furnishings, and he placed them in the treasuries of the Temple of the Lord.

Nebuchadnezzar took all the treasures from the Lord's Temple and the royal palace, and he cut up all the gold items that Solomon, king of Israel, had made for the Lord's Temple, as the Lord had said would happen.

Other Levites under Ahijah were in charge of the treasuries of the house of God and the treasuries of what had been dedicated to God.
