I also found out that the food allowances for the Levites were not being provided, so the Levites had gone back to take care of their fields, along with the singers who led the worship services.

or a bag for your journey, or two cloaks, or sandals, or a walking stick, for a worker deserves to be supported.

Don't you know that those who work in temples receive their meals from temple offerings, and those who serve at the altar receive their portion of the sacrifice on the altar?

Those that are taught the Word should treat their teachers well, sharing with them all good things.

and make sure you don't forget about the Levites for as long as you live in your land.

Even while we were with you we gave strict instructions that anybody who didn't want to work shouldn't eat.

Elders who direct the church well should be seen as doubly valuable, particularly those who work in speaking the Word and in teaching.
