So the king sent a third captain with his fifty men. The third captain went up, kneeled before Elijah, and pleaded with him, “Man of God, please value my life and the lives of these fifty men.

Then the angel of the Lord told Elijah, “Go down with him. You don't have to be afraid of him.” So Elijah got up and went down with him to the king.

It hurts the Lord when those who trust in him die.

Redemption is beyond price; no one could ever pay enough

He rescues them from violence and oppression, for their lives mean so much to him.

You can buy a prostitute for the price of a loaf of bread, but adultery with another man's wife can cost you your life.

But I don't consider my life as worth anything to me. I only want to finish my mission and the ministry that the Lord Jesus gave to me, to witness to the good news of the grace of God.

“I've done wrong,” Saul replied, “Come back, David, my son. I won't ever try to harm you again, because you valued me and spared my life today. I've been so stupid! I've made a big mistake!”

In the same way as I valued your life today, may the Lord value my life, and may he rescue me from all my troubles.”
