First Nations Version

When all hope seemed to be gone, he trusted in the promise that he would become the father of many nations. The Great Spirit had said to him, “Your descendants will be like the stars, too many to count.”

This is what Creator was planning when he set us free by his Spirit. It is the hope of all creation. We cannot fully see this hope yet, for who hopes for what has already happened?


This gives us the hope we need to reach the end of the trail with honor. All of this is because of Creator’s great love that has been poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, who is his gift to us from above.


“Be strong of heart,” Small Man (Paul) said to them, “for I have faith that the Great Spirit will do everything he told me.


The Sacred Teachings tell us, “I have made you the father of many nations.” And in the eyes of the Great Spirit he is our father, for he put his trust in the Great Spirit, the one who gives life to the dead and speaks into being things that are not yet as if they already were.


Then he questioned the messenger, “We are too old to have children. How can I believe you?”


When Father of Many Nations (Abraham) was about one hundred winters old, he could see that his body was as good as dead and that the womb of Noble Woman (Sarah) was barren. Even so, his faith did not become weak,


This hope is like a tent-stake, holding our lives firmly and safely in place. This hope goes behind the blanket that hangs in the sacred lodge and reaches into the Most Holy Place in the spirit-world above. Creator’s sacred lodge on earth had a blanket that separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place. This earthly lodge was a symbol of the true sacred lodge in the spirit-world above spoken of here.
