First Nations Version

How does our tribal ancestor, Father of Many Nations (Abraham), fit into this way of trusting? What can we learn from what he found?

That is why the promise comes from trusting in the gift of Creator’s great kindness, so that all the descendants of Father of Many Nations (Abraham) can be sure to receive it. This promise is not only for the ones who are under our tribal law, but for all who walk the same path of trust and faith that Father of Many Nations (Abraham) walked. For he is the father of us all!


Are they Tribal Members (Hebrews)? So am I! Are they of the tribes of Wrestles with Creator (Israelites)? So am I! Are they descendants of Father of Many Nations (Abraham)? So am I!


“My fellow members of the sacred family, descendants of Father of Many Nations (Abraham), and all who have deep respect for the Great Spirit, it is to all of us that this message has been given. This is a message that will set us free and make us whole.


Father of Many Nations (Abraham) looked ahead to my day. He saw it, and it made his heart glad!”


But if you think I am saying our tribal law is at fault or that it is the reason we walk in our broken ways, you are not thinking straight. What I am saying is that the law shows us how bad our broken ways have become. I would not have known that some desires are wrong if the law had not said, “Do not desire what belongs to another.”


Do you think you can say, ‘Father of Many Nations (Abraham) is our ancestor’? Do you not know the Great Spirit can make these stones into his children?


What more can be said? If Creator stands with us, who can stand against us?


Do you think you are greater than Father of Many Nations (Abraham) and the prophets? Who are you making yourself out to be?”


But they questioned him, “We are the descendants of Father of Many Nations (Abraham) and have never been anyone’s slave. How can you say, ‘You will be set free’?”


Prove to others by the way you live that you have returned to the good road. Do not think you can say, ‘Father of Many Nations (Abraham) is our ancestor.’ Do you not know that the Great Spirit can make these stones into his children?


When our earthly fathers disciplined us, we respected them for it. So how much more should we accept and respect Creator’s discipline, for he is our spiritual Father and the one who gives us the life of beauty and harmony!


What can we say about this? Should we continue to walk in our broken ways so that Creator will show us even more kindness?


This is the good story about Creator’s own Son. In his human body he was descended from Chief Much Loved One (David),


As human beings we might think that our wrongdoing only proves that the Great Spirit was right about us all along. Would we then be able to say that it is wrong for him to show his anger toward us?
