First Nations Version

If the Outside Nations, who never heard the law, naturally do what they know is right, the things instructed by the law, this natural law is all they need.

For all the Outside Nations who have followed their bad hearts and broken ways, even though they had no written law to follow, will come to a bad end. And all who were given the tribal law but also followed their bad heart and broken ways, their own tribal law will decide against them.


So then, if someone from an Outside Nation, who never participated in the cutting of the flesh ceremony, does by nature what the law instructs, that Outsider’s ways will expose the guilt of the one who participated in the ceremony. For if he does not walk true to the whole written law, he remains guilty of breaking the law.


You Outside Nations did not share in the promises or the peace treaty that the Great Spirit made with those tribes. You were out from under their special care and protection—unaware of and apart from the Chosen One. You shared no common hope and were outside the help Creator gave to them in this world.


“In times past Creator overlooked this empty way of thinking. But now he wants all people everywhere to return to the right way of thinking,


He accepts people of all nations who have a deep respect for him and do what is right.


Even though they know that Creator is right when he says these worthless ways deserve death and will lead others there, they continue to walk in these ways, and even worse, they give their approval to other people who also walk this path.


Does not our own tradition and culture teach you that it is not natural or honorable for a man to wear his hair long,


Last of all, my sacred family members, if anything can be seen as good and honorable, think deeply about these things. Things that are true and noble, upright and pure, full of beauty and worthy of respect.


In past generations he permitted all nations to walk in their own ways,


They show that creation’s law is already at work within them, carved into their hearts. There is a voice deep within their inner being that speaks to them about what is right and what is wrong.


When I am among the ones who are outside of our tribal law, I consider myself as also outside of our tribal law. Even so, I am not truly outside Creator’s law, but under the law of the Chosen One. I do this to gain their respect and win them over to the good story.


This is how all of us once lived when we followed our uncontrolled emotions fed by bodily desires and dark thoughts. These broken ways became our natural condition, and, like the rest of humankind, we were children deserving of Creator’s anger.
