Later that day, when the sun was going down, many who were tormented by evil spirits were brought to him. He spoke to the spirits, forced them out with a word, and healed the ones who were sick.
The people carried the sick into the village pathways and laid them on their sleeping bundles and mats so that when Stands on the Rock (Peter) walked by, his shadow might fall on them.
They brought a man to Creator Sets Free (Jesus) who, tormented by an evil spirit, could not see or speak. He healed the man, who could then see and speak again.
Some people there came carrying a crippled man lying on a sleeping mat and brought him to Creator Sets Free (Jesus). When he saw their faith in him, he said to the crippled man, “Be brave, my son, you are released from your broken ways.”
Creator Sets Free (Jesus) saw that the crowd was now pushing in closer to see, so he spoke sharply to the unclean spirit. “Spirit that makes one unable to speak or hear,” he said firmly, “I order you now to leave this boy and never enter him again!”
When Creator Sets Free (Jesus) saw her, he reached out and touched her hand. Right then the fever left her. She felt so good she got up and made a meal for them.
Many were set free from evil spirits. As the spirits left them, they howled with loud voices, saying, “You are the Chosen One, Creator’s own Son!” But he spoke sharply to them and did not let them speak, for they knew who he was.
