Do not even say, ‘I promise by my own head.’ Can you make even one hair on your head become white or black?


But in his wisdom the Great Spirit has given each body part its own place, so it can fulfill the purpose it was created for and make Creator’s heart glad.


“This is why I am telling you not to be troubled about getting enough to eat or drink, or what to wear. Is eating, drinking and clothing yourself all there is? Does your life not have more meaning than this?


“Why do you trouble yourself with what to wear? Have you seen how the wildflowers grow in the plains and meadows? Do you think they work hard and long to clothe themselves?


There is no need to say, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’


So do not worry about tomorrow’s troubles. It is enough to trust Creator to give you the strength you need to face today.


“Head Woman (Martha), O Head Woman (Martha),” he said, “I know many things worry and trouble you.


“When they drag you into their gathering houses and before government rulers, do not worry how to defend yourselves or what to say.


Then he said to the ones who walked the road with him, “This is why I am telling you not to be troubled about getting enough to eat or drink, or what to wear. Is eating, drinking, and clothing yourself all there is?


Do not let your hearts be weighed down with anything. Instead, with every step you take, send your voice to the Great Spirit, asking him for the things you need. And in all your prayers remember to give him thanks.


The Great Spirit cares deeply about you, so gather all your worries into a blanket and throw them on his shoulders. He will carry them for you.
