“This is why I am telling you not to be troubled about getting enough to eat or drink, or what to wear. Is eating, drinking and clothing yourself all there is? Does your life not have more meaning than this?

Do not let your hearts be weighed down with anything. Instead, with every step you take, send your voice to the Great Spirit, asking him for the things you need. And in all your prayers remember to give him thanks.


The Great Spirit cares deeply about you, so gather all your worries into a blanket and throw them on his shoulders. He will carry them for you.


If the Great Spirit did not hold back his own Son, but instead gave him up for us all, will he then hold back on anything else? Along with his Son, he will give us all there is to give.


There is no need to say, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’


but they are too busy worrying about their earthly existence. This makes them stray away from the good road, wanting more and more possessions, thinking this will make them happy. The message is choked, and their faith stops growing.


“When this happens, do not be afraid or worry about what you will say or how you will say it.


I want you to walk free from worry about these things. A man who is not married can give all his time to please our Honored Chief.


So do not worry about tomorrow’s troubles. It is enough to trust Creator to give you the strength you need to face today.


During times of war, no warrior gets involved in everyday life, for he must please the war-chief who chose him.


“The weeds and thistles represent the ones who have heard the teaching, but they are too busy worrying about their earthly possessions, so the teaching is choked and their faith stops growing good fruit.


“The seed planted among the weeds and thistles represents the ones who have heard the message, but they are too busy worrying about their earthly existence. The desire for more and more possessions leads them down a false path, and they never grow into mature human beings.


“When they drag you into their gathering houses and before government rulers, do not worry how to defend yourselves or what to say.


So when they put you on trial, do not worry ahead of time about what you will say. Speak what is given you at the time, for the Holy Spirit himself will give you the words to speak.
