Matthew 5:22First Nations VersionBut I tell you, everyone who is angry toward a fellow human being will have to give an answer to the tribal council. If they speak with disrespect to someone, saying, ‘You hollow head!’ they will also face the tribal council. If they curse someone by saying ‘You damn fool!’ they may end up in the Valley of Smoldering Fire. See the chapter |
Some traditional wisdom seekers also argued with him. Others wondered, “What is this talking head saying?” while others said, “He seems to be talking about strange and powerful spirits.” They said this because he was telling them the good story about Creator Sets Free (Jesus) and his rising from the dead.
As the sun began to rise, the head holy men counseled together with the tribal elders, the scroll keepers, and the Grand Council. Then with ropes they bound Creator Sets Free (Jesus) once again and took him to Spear of the Great Waters (Pilate). Spear of the Great Waters (Pilate) was the local governor representing the People of Iron (Romans). He had the power to decide who would live and who would die.
They did what they were told and went to the sacred lodge, and just as the sun was rising, they began to teach the people. When the chief holy man arrived, along with the spiritual leaders, they called together the Grand Council and the elders of the tribes of Wrestles with Creator (Israel). They sent some lodge soldiers to the local jail to have the message bearers brought before the council.
