Even though I am small and weak among his holy people, he still chose me to tell all Nations about the mysterious treasures he has hidden in the Chosen One


Dogs would come and lick the sores that covered his body as he begged for crumbs from the rich man’s table.


So it matters not whether one is a Tribal Member or from an Outside Nation, for the same one we call Chief is the Great Spirit of all people. He pours out his treasures on all who call out to him.


For is not the Great Spirit the maker of all people, not just our Tribal People? Yes! He is the Great Spirit of all Nations!


“Now the tribal tax collector hung his head down and would not even lift his face to the spirit-world above. He beat his hands against his chest and cried out, ‘Creator! Be kind and have pity on me. I am a pitiful man, full of bad thoughts and wrongdoings!’


But the head soldier, knowing the tribal traditions, said to him, “Honored One, I am not worth the trouble that coming to my house would bring to you. If you will only speak the word, I know my servant will be healed,


Never! Creator will be true to his promise, even if every human being fails to be true to him. This is what the Sacred Teachings say about Creator, “You will be true to your word and always decide what is best.”


It is a love that goes beyond our small and weak ways of thinking. This love fills us with the Great Spirit, the one who fills all things.


From these Sacred Teachings we can see that we Tribal Members have not followed our own tribal laws. Our Sacred Teachings have spoken against us, giving us nothing to say in our own defense, and proving that we, along with all the people of the world, stand guilty. And we must give an answer to the Great Spirit for what we have done.


“The children’s food should not be given to the dogs,” he said to her.


“Dear woman,” he answered back, “your answer shows how great your faith is! What you have asked for will be yours.” Her daughter was healed from that time forward.


“But Wisdomkeeper,” she answered back, “even the dogs under the table can eat the children’s crumbs.”
