“Why do the people of this generation need a sign?” he asked as he breathed out a sigh from his spirit. “I tell you from my heart, this generation will not be given a sign—not today!”

He then looked up into the spirit-world above, let out a deep breath, and said in his native language, “Ephphatha!” which means, “Be opened.”


It is the bad-hearted and unfaithful people of today who look for signs, but the only sign they will be given is the sign of the prophet Wings of Dove (Jonah).” After saying this, he left them and went on his way. He and his followers took their canoe to cross again to the other side of the lake.


As he rode forward, he could see the Sacred Village of Peace (Jerusalem), and tears began to run down his face. He could taste the salt from his tears as he opened his mouth in anguish.


“This is a generation with no faith!” Creator Sets Free (Jesus) said to them all. “How much longer will I have to put up with you? Bring the boy to me.”


He was troubled by their lack of trust in him. So he left his boyhood village and went about teaching in other villages.


There was fire in his eyes as he looked around the room. His anger turned to sorrow when he saw their hearts of stone. He turned to the man and said, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and it was the same as his good hand!


Then some of the scroll keepers and Separated Ones (Pharisees) spoke back to him. “Wisdomkeeper,” they demanded, “show us a powerful sign to prove who you are.” But Creator Sets Free (Jesus) turned their words back on them, for they had just seen him do a powerful sign.


He then climbed back into his canoe and launched out toward the other side of the lake.
