He then came to them and climbed into the canoe as the wind calmed down. His followers were amazed beyond words, for their hearts were still too hard.

He stood up and spoke sharply to the wind and said to the raging waters, “Calm down and be still!” Right then and there the wind died down, and a great peace fell upon the surface of the water.


When they knew it was Creator Sets Free (Jesus), they were glad to bring him into the canoe, and suddenly they were at the shoreline on the other side of the great lake.


The people were amazed beyond belief and full of wonder. “He does all things well!” they told everyone. “He even heals the ones who cannot hear or speak!”


Then they left in a canoe to go to an out-of-the-way place to be alone and rest.


She stood up right away and began to walk, for she was twelve winters old. Her father and mother stood there, amazed beyond words, weeping for joy, for their little girl was alive!


They all began to tremble with fear. They shook their heads with wonder and whispered to each other, “Who is this man? Even the wind and the waves do what he says!”


Right away the man stood up, and, in front of them all, he rolled up his sleeping bundle and walked out. Great amazement filled the hearts of all who were in the house as they gave praise to Creator. “Who has ever seen this kind of mysterious and powerful medicine?” they asked.


The people were dumbfounded and began to ask each other, “What is this teaching? What new medicine is this? He even tells the unclean spirits what to do—and they do it!”


Creator Sets Free (Jesus) was amazed at this answer. He turned to the ones who were following him and said to them, “I speak from my heart, I have never seen such great faith, not even among the tribes of Wrestles with Creator (Israel).” He let his words sink deep into the hearts of the people listening.
