Creator Sets Free (Jesus) turned to Stands on the Rock (Peter) and cried out, “Enough of this! Put your long knife back into its sheath. Shall I not drink the cup of suffering my Father has asked of me?”


When you ask for things, you do not receive them because you ask for the wrong reasons, wanting to satisfy your own selfish desires.


In the same way, his Spirit helps us in our weakness, for our prayers are often empty words, but Creator’s own Spirit groans deep within us, without words, making our weak prayers strong.


“Abba, Honored Father,” he cried out, “nothing is too hard for you. Take this bitter cup of suffering away from me. But I want only your way, not mine.”


He went a little ways from them, dropped his face to the ground, and prayed. “O Great Father,” he cried out, “is there a way to take this cup of bitter suffering away from me? But I want only your way, not mine.”


They came admitting to their bad hearts and broken ways and participated in the purification ceremony.
