Luke 19:12

First Nations Version

“There was a man who was born to be chief of a large tribal nation. The time had come for him to take his place as chief. But first he had to take a long journey to another land, to meet with a council of many nations, to be approved.

The Chosen One now sits in his honored place at Creator’s right hand in the spirit-world above. From there the Chosen One rules over all spirit-messengers, authorities, and powers.


So the Chosen One also died once when he took on himself the bad hearts and broken ways of many people. He will appear a second time, not to die for broken ways but to set free and make whole all who keep their eyes wide open as they wait for him.


“So then, you are a chief,” he said back to him. “It is you who have said it,” Creator Sets Free (Jesus) answered. “I was born for this and have come into the world for this purpose—to tell about the truth. The ones who belong to the truth will listen to my voice.”


Then he turned again to the people and began to tell them this story. “A tribal member planted a large vineyard and rented it out to other tribal members for a share of the grapes. Then he traveled far away to another land to stay for a long time.


Behold! He comes riding on the clouds! Every eye will see him, even the ones who pierced him. When all the tribes of the land see him, their hearts will be pierced through with sorrow and fall to the ground. Aho! May it be so.


But until then, he must continue his chiefly rule until he has defeated and humbled all his enemies.


because he has chosen a day when he will decide, for all people, who has done right and who has done wrong. He has chosen a man who will do this and has shown all people who he is by bringing him back to life again from the dead.”


and as he spoke, he was taken up into the spirit-world above.


When he was finished speaking to them, Creator Sets Free (Jesus), our great chief and Wisdomkeeper, was taken up into the spirit-world above to sit down at the right hand of the Great Spirit—the place of greatest honor, dignity, and power.


Once again Creator Sets Free (Jesus) began to speak to them using stories:


“But when they saw that he had sent his son, they said to each other, ‘This vineyard will one day belong to this son. If we kill him, we can take the vineyard for ourselves.’


“All the authority of the spirit-world above and the earth below has been given to me,” he told them.
