The people in the front of the crowd scolded him and said, “Be quiet!” That only made him cry out louder, “Descendant of Much Loved One (David), have pity on me!”

The people were bringing their little children to Creator Sets Free (Jesus) so he would lay his hands on them and bless them, but his followers spoke harsh words to the ones bringing them.


Three times I begged our Honored Chief to remove this thorn from me.


Some of the Separated Ones (Pharisees) who were in the crowd spoke up. “Wisdomkeeper!” they cried out, “Warn your followers to watch what they are saying.” It was a dangerous thing to call anyone a chief or ruler in front of the soldiers of the People of Iron (Romans) who were guarding the area.


The blind man cried out in a loud voice, “Creator Sets Free (Jesus), descendant of Much Loved One (David), have pity on me!”


Creator Sets Free (Jesus) told them a story to show that they should pray at all times and never lose heart.


“Sorrow and trouble await you experts in tribal law, for you have taken for yourselves the secrets of wisdom and understanding. You have failed to walk in them, and even worse, you have stood in the way of others who were trying to get in.”


As they continued on, a messenger from the home of the headman of the gathering house came. With sadness on his face he said to He Gives Light (Jairus), “There is no need to trouble the Wisdomkeeper any longer. Your little girl has died.” The man’s heart fell to the ground, and grief began to creep over him.


“Let your prayers rise like smoke to the Great Spirit, for he will see and answer you. Every step is a prayer, and as you dance upon the earth for the things you seek, the way will open before you. In the same way, as you search for the true ancient pathways, you will find them.


“Why are you full of fear?” he asked them, “Is your faith so small?” He stood up and spoke sharply to the wind and the raging water. At his words a great peace fell upon the surface of the waters.


As Creator Sets Free (Jesus) left from there, two blind men followed after him. They were calling out to him, “Be kind to us, descendant of Much Loved One (David).”


Creator Sets Free (Jesus) stopped walking and told them to bring the man to him. When the man was close, Creator Sets Free (Jesus) asked him,
