The Great Spirit is the maker and upholder of all things. So it was only right that he would be the one to lift his children back up to the honored place for which he created them. The one who would blaze the trail before them had to suffer, so he would be fully prepared to set them free and make them whole.


When he was fully prepared, he became the one through whom all people who listen and do what he says will be set free and made whole, to the time beyond the end of all days.


So you can see that our tribal law chooses weak human beings with broken ways to be chief holy men. But it was a solemn promise, given many winters after our tribal law, that chose the Son of the Great Spirit. His suffering has fully prepared him to be a chief holy man whose days will never end.


Creator Sets Free (Jesus) stood his ground and said to them, “I have done many good things, representing my Father. For which of these do you mean to stone me?”


The reputation of Creator Sets Free (Jesus) reached the ears of Chief Looks Brave (Herod). Some told him, “Gift of Goodwill (John) has come back from the world of the dead. That is why he can work so much power!”


He then tasted the bitter wine, turned his head to the sky and cried out loud, “It is done!” He then lowered his head to his chest and, with his last breath, gave up his spirit. Creator Sets Free (Jesus) was dead.
