There was a woman there who had a spirit of weakness for eighteen winters. Her back was bent and twisted, so she could not stand up straight.

She was also required to warn people nearby of her condition by saying out loud, “Unclean! Unclean!” Instead, she pushed her way through the crowd to get to the Wisdomkeeper. She spent all she had on medicine men who were not able to heal her.

Some people were carrying a man who had been unable to walk from his birth. Each day they would lay him down by the entrance to the lodge called the Beautiful Gate, so he could ask for handouts from the ones who were going into the lodge.
