After saying this, he spit on the ground. Then he made mud from his spit and rubbed it on the man’s eyes and instructed him to go and wash in the Waters of Sending Village (Pool of Siloam). With the help of others, the man went and washed the mud out of his eyes and returned with his sight restored.

He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. He rubbed some of his spit into the man’s eyes and then laid his hands on him. “What do you see?” Creator Sets Free (Jesus) asked the man.


So he took the man away from the crowd. When he was alone with him, he put his fingers into the man’s ears, and then spit and touched the man’s tongue.


I counsel you to acquire from me gold that has been purified by fire, and then you will truly have great possessions. You must also acquire from me pure white regalia, to hide the shame of your nakedness, and healing ointment to put on your eyes, so you can see.


He said, “A man named Creator Sets Free (Jesus) made some mud and rubbed it on my eyes. He told me to go to the Waters of Sending Village (Pool of Siloam) and wash. So I did what he said, and now I can see.”
