The tribal leaders moved toward him to take him by force, but he slipped through their hands and walked away. Creator Sets Free (Jesus) decided it was time to leave Village of Peace (Jerusalem) again.


Creator Sets Free (Jesus) said these things at the sacred lodge, where he was teaching, near the storehouse where they keep the ceremonial gifts. No one laid a hand on him, for his time had not yet come. The people began to argue among themselves about him.


Creator Sets Free (Jesus) answered them, “You are free to go anytime you want, for the people there do not hate you. But they do hate me, because I show them their bent and crooked ways.


When the Separated Ones (Pharisees) and the head holy men heard what the crowds were saying about him, they sent the lodge soldiers to arrest him.


For the head holy men and the Separated Ones (Pharisees) had given instruction that anyone who saw Creator Sets Free (Jesus) should report back to them so they could arrest him.


for while the sun still shines, we must be doing what he wants. A time of darkness is coming when no one will do what he wants.


They picked up stones to throw at him, but he hid himself in the crowd, passed them by, and walked out of the sacred lodge.


“I know you are the descendants of Father of Many Nations (Abraham), but you still want to kill me


“Drawn from the Water (Moses) gave you the law, but none of you keep it. Why do you want to kill me?”


You can go to the festival, but I am not going now—it is not my time yet.”


“Did I not sit with you every day in the sacred lodge? Why did you not take me then? This is your time, and you have given the powers of darkness their day.”


When the head holy men and the scroll keepers realized that this story was about them, they looked for a way to arrest him, but they could not, for they were afraid of what the people might do.


The head holy men and the scroll keepers heard about what Creator Sets Free (Jesus) had said and done. They began to counsel together about how they could kill him, for they feared his reputation among the many people who respected his teachings.


They wanted to arrest Creator Sets Free (Jesus) but feared the people, since they considered him a prophet.


The tribal leaders became furious and picked up stones to kill him.


The Separated Ones (Pharisees) stormed out of there and began to scheme together about how to have Creator Sets Free (Jesus) killed.
