John 6:11

First Nations Version

He took the five pieces of frybread given by the little boy and held them up to the sky. He gave thanks to the Great Spirit and began to break the frybread into smaller pieces and gave them to his followers to give to the people. In the same manner he also divided the two fish, and they were given out to the people.

Just then some canoes arrived from Rolling Water (Tiberias) at the same place where Creator Sets Free (Jesus) had given thanks for the frybread and fed them all.


Give thanks to the Great Spirit in all things, for this is what he wants from you as you dance in step with Creator Sets Free (Jesus) the Chosen One.


The one who keeps a day as sacred does so to honor the Great Spirit. It is the same for the one who eats all foods and for the one who does not. For they are both doing so to honor and give thanks to the Great Spirit.


He then took the seven pieces of frybread and the two fish, gave thanks, and broke them into small pieces. He gave them to his followers, and they gave them out to the people.


When they sat down to eat a meal together, Creator Sets Free (Jesus) took some frybread into his hands. He gave thanks and broke it, giving each of them a piece.


Here is my answer: whatever you do, whether it is eating or drinking or anything else, do it all to bring honor to the Great Spirit.


After he said this, he took a piece of frybread and, giving thanks to the Great Spirit in front of them all, he broke it and began to eat.


“Here is a boy with five pieces of frybread and two small fish, but how would that possibly be enough?”


They saw a warm fire with fish cooking over the coals and some frybread to eat.


Creator Sets Free (Jesus) looked up from cooking and said, “Bring me some of the fish you caught.”


He took the frybread and gave some to each of them, along with a piece of fish.
