First Nations Version

No one has ever seen the Great Spirit, but the one Son, who is himself the Great Spirit and closest to the Father’s heart, has shown us what he is like.

He is the visible representation of our invisible Creator. All that the Father has belongs to this Son. He existed before creation and is above all created things.


“The only one who has seen the Father is the one sent from the Great Spirit. This one has clearly seen the Father.


“My Father has put everything into my hands,” he said with a solemn voice. “Only the Father knows the Son and only the Son knows the Father. No one can know the Father in his fullness unless the Son makes him known.” Then he lifted his eyes to the horizon as if he were speaking to all the world.


He then turned to the seventy who walked the road with him and said, “My Father has put everything into my hands. Only the Father knows the Son, and only the Son knows the Father. No one can truly know the Father in his fullness unless the Son makes him known.”


No one has ever seen the Great Spirit, but as long as we love each other, he remains in us, and his love is made complete in us.


He is the only one over whom death has no power. His life shines so bright no one can even come near him, and no human eye has ever been able to fully see him. To him belongs all honor and power to the time beyond the end of all days. Aho! May it be so!


Creator showed his love for us by sending the only Son who fully represents him into this world, so that we could live through him.


We also know that the Son of the Great Spirit has come. He has given us a way to know the True One. It is through his Son, Creator Sets Free (Jesus) the Chosen One, that we are in harmony with the True One. This is the one true Great Spirit and the life of the world to come that never fades away, full of beauty and harmony.


If we say that we love the Great Spirit but hate others, then we are speaking with a forked tongue. If we do not love someone we can see, then how can we love a Creator we cannot see?


I have represented and will always represent who you truly are so that the love you have for me will be in them and I will live in them also.”


“I have shown who you truly are to the ones you gave me from this world. They were always yours and you trusted me with them, and they have walked in your ways.


“Friend of Horses (Philip),” Creator Sets Free (Jesus) said, “how long have you walked with me, and still you do not know me? How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? The ones who have seen me have seen the Father.


Creator’s Word became a flesh-and-blood human being and pitched his sacred tent among us, living as one of us. We looked upon his great beauty and saw how honorable he was, the kind of honor held only by this one Son who fully represents his Father—full of his great kindness and truth.


The prophet Creator Will Help Us (Isaiah) saw the true beauty of Creator Sets Free (Jesus) long ago and prophesied the reasons the people could not believe.


So let us honor the Great Chief of all the ages, the one whom death has no power over, who cannot be seen with human eyes. He is the only true and Great Spirit. All honor and shining-greatness belong to him to the time beyond the end of all days. Aho! May it be so!


He Shows Goodwill (John), the much-loved follower of Creator Sets Free (Jesus), was sitting next to him.


Listen closely, for you fail to hear what we are talking about. We are speaking about things we know to be true, but if you do not believe me when I talk about things on earth, how will you believe me when I talk about the things from the spirit-world above?


For the ones who do not believe have been blinded in their minds by the evil spirit-ruler of this present world. This blindness keeps them from seeing the light that shines when the good story is told about the beauty of the Chosen One, who is the only one who fully represents the Great Spirit.
