We all stumble on the path in many ways. But if we could keep our words from hurting others, we would be mature human beings, able to aim our whole lives in the right direction.

All who represent themselves as spiritual but do not keep their tongue under control are only fooling themselves—their spirituality is worthless.


Our Sacred Teachings tell us, “Let the ones who love life and long to see good days keep their tongue from evil and their lips from speaking lies. Let them turn away from doing evil and do what is good.


The words that come out from your hearts will decide for or against you when you stand before the Great Spirit.”


It is written in our Sacred Teachings of our tribal law, “There is no one who stands upright. Not even one!


So keep standing firm until you have passed the test. Then you will have gained all the maturity and strength of character needed to finish walking the good road.


For whoever does everything our tribal law requires yet fails in one thing is guilty of breaking all of it.


I am rough on my body and bring it under my power, so that after I have instructed others, I myself will not grow weary and drop out of the race.


May the Great Provider give you everything you need to do what he wants done. He is working, through Creator Sets Free (Jesus) the Chosen One, to do in us the things that make his heart glad. He is to be given all honor to the time beyond the end of all days. Aho! May it be so!


Walks in Beauty (Epaphras), who is a member of the sacred family of your village, sends his greetings also. He is a true servant of the Chosen One, Creator Sets Free (Jesus). He wrestles for you in his prayers, that you will stand strong and walk Creator’s path with firm steps as you grow into mature human beings.


Yes, he is the one we tell others about, teaching and instructing them with wise counsel, so that they may stand tall as mature human beings, like the Chosen One.


But our Sacred Teachings make it clear that because of broken ways Creator has rounded everyone up into one corral, so that the promise he made to Father of Many Nations (Abraham) would be sure to find its way to all who trust in what Creator Sets Free (Jesus) the Chosen One has done.


I can now see that no matter how much I want to do good, evil is right there with me—a law of broken ways—taking charge and ruling over me.


But you will not have to suffer for long, for the Great Spirit who gives us his gift of great kindness will restore you, set your feet on solid ground, and strengthen you. For he has called you into the bright-shining greatness of the Chosen One that will never fade away.


For our broken human desires go against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit go against our broken human desires. They are at war with each other, and this struggle keeps you from doing the things you want to do.


“You nest of poisonous snakes! How can you who are evil speak any good things? What is in your hearts will come out of your mouths.
