Hebrews 7:19First Nations VersionFor our tribal law could not bring anyone or anything to full meaning and purpose. But the Chosen One has brought to us an even greater hope, and it is this hope that moves us to draw near to the Great Spirit. See the chapter |
But we who follow the Chosen One know that working hard to keep our tribal law does not put us in good standing with Creator. For good standing comes through trusting in what Creator Sets Free (Jesus) the Chosen One has done. As Tribal Members we have put our trust in him, so that our good standing comes from trusting in the Chosen One and not by working hard to keep our tribal law. For no human being will be put in good standing with Creator by working hard to keep the law.
So then, if Creator’s full purpose was to come through the holy men who are descended from He Brings Together (Levi), for our tribal law was given in harmony with these holy men, why would there be a need for another holy man to appear, one like Chief Who Stands for What Is Right (Melchizedek), instead of one who is descended from Light Bearer (Aaron)?
But if you think I am saying our tribal law is at fault or that it is the reason we walk in our broken ways, you are not thinking straight. What I am saying is that the law shows us how bad our broken ways have become. I would not have known that some desires are wrong if the law had not said, “Do not desire what belongs to another.”
