But we can see that there is one human being who has taken on himself this sacred calling—Creator Sets Free (Jesus). For a short time he was made a little lower than the spirit-messengers so that by the gift of Creator’s great kindness, he might taste death for everyone. Because he did this, he has been highly honored with the headdress of a chief.

Then they sang a new song with these words: “To you belongs the honor to take hold of the sacred scroll and break open its seven seals, for you died as a lamb led to the slaughter. You paid the highest price by offering your lifeblood to bring people back to the Great Spirit from every tribe and language and people and nation.


He paid a great price to set us free from our bad hearts and broken ways, not only for us but for all people.


And if the false steps of one man led to guilt and shame for all human beings, then another man’s true and firm steps will bring life and good standing to all human beings.


He has now returned to his seat of honor at the right hand of the Great Spirit. The Father above has gifted him with the Holy Spirit whom he promised to send. This Spirit has now been poured out upon us like the rain. This is the meaning of what you now see and hear.


“The Great Spirit loves this world of human beings so deeply he gave us his Son—the only Son who fully represents him. All who trust in him and his way will not come to a bad end, but will have the life of the world to come that never fades away, full of beauty and harmony.


He died for all so that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for the one who died and rose for them.


So then, when the Chosen One came into this world, he said, “O Great Spirit, sacrifice and offering is not what you want, but you have given me a human body to bring an end to these sacrifices once and for all.


But here is the way the Maker of Life proves how deep his love is for us: even when we were still following our bad hearts and broken ways, the Chosen One gave his life for us.


The next day Gift of Goodwill (John) saw Creator Sets Free (Jesus) walking toward him from a distance. “Behold!” he said to the ones gathered with him. “There is Creator’s Lamb, the one who carries away and heals the bad hearts and broken ways of the world!” The crowd of people looked to see the one Gift of Goodwill (John) was talking about.


But I, the True Human Being, will be lifted up from the ground and nailed to a cross. This is the way I will bring all things, in the spirit-world above and the earth below, to myself.”


This means he is able to fully set free and make whole all who draw near to the Great Spirit through him, since he always lives to pray and represent them in a good way.


Through him you trust in the Great Spirit, who raised him to life from death and honored him with shining-greatness. Creator did this so you would put all your hope and trust in him.


Every chief holy man is chosen to offer ceremonial gifts and sacrifices, so our chief holy man must also have something to offer.


He gave up his own life to set all people free, so that, when the time was right, this truth would be made clear to all humankind.


Creator Sets Free (Jesus), the one who knew no broken ways, was chosen by the Great Spirit to bear our broken ways, so that we would become the ones who represent his right ways.


If the Great Spirit did not hold back his own Son, but instead gave him up for us all, will he then hold back on anything else? Along with his Son, he will give us all there is to give.


But when the time was right, Creator sent his Son, who was born of a woman and born under our tribal law.


It was the one who walked with Father of Many Nations (Abraham), He Made Us Laugh (Isaac), and Heel Grabber (Jacob)—the Great Spirit of our ancestors, who has done this. “The Giver of Life has honored Creator Sets Free (Jesus), the one who served him and did all he asked. The same one you turned over to Spear of the Great Waters (Pilate), the governor from the People of Iron (Romans), to be put on trial for his life. The same one you turned your back on, in front of Spear of the Great Waters (Pilate), when he wanted to release him.


That law did not have the power to set us free, because of our broken humanity. But Creator found a way by sending his Son, in the likeness of broken and weak human beings, to bear the weight of our broken ways in his own human body and set us free from our guilt and shame.


“My Father has a great love for me, for I lay my life down to take it back again.


“Now we are sure you have an evil spirit,” they said. “Father of Many Nations (Abraham) and all the prophets crossed over to death. How can you say that the ones who walk in your word will not taste of death?


“I speak from my heart, there are some of you standing here today who, before you die, will see the True Human Being coming and bringing with him the power of his good road.”


His eyes blaze like flames of fire. His headdress has many feathers. He has a name written down that only he knows.


For a short time you made them a little lower than the spirit-messengers. You placed a headdress of honor on their heads


“I speak from my heart, there are some of you standing here with me today who, before you cross over to death, will see Creator’s good road.”


“I speak to you from my heart,” he said to his followers and the crowd who had gathered around him. “There are some of you standing here today who, before you cross over to death, will see the coming of Creator’s good road and all its power!”


“Why do you trouble yourself with what to wear? Have you seen how the wildflowers grow in the plains and meadows? Do you think they work hard and long to clothe themselves?


I speak from my heart, death will not have the final word for the ones who walk in my message.”


You love right ways and hate wrong ways. So the Great Spirit, your Creator, has chosen you to be a Chief, by pouring the oil of joy on you, honoring you more than all who walk the road with you.”


Because he trusted the Great Spirit, Walks with Creator (Enoch) did not die. No one could find him because Creator took him. Before he was taken, he had the reputation of one who makes Creator’s heart glad.


This means we must keep our eyes on Creator Sets Free (Jesus), the trailblazer of our spiritual ways, the one who was first to reach the end of the trail. The joy that lay before him gave him the strength to suffer on the cross and willingly bear its shame. He now sits at Creator’s right hand in the place of greatest honor.
