The local people were sure that he would swell up or fall down dead. They waited a long time, but when they saw that nothing bad had come to him, they changed their minds and said he must be a powerful spirit.

The crowd began to shout, “This is not the voice of a man, but of a great spirit!”


The crowd circled around him, front and back, and began to shout: “Hosanna! To the descendant of Much Loved One (David)! “Blessed is the one who comes representing the Great Spirit! “Hosanna to the highest one!” This humble Chief did not fit the image of a conquering ruler. Instead of a warhorse, he rode on a donkey colt. No mighty warriors rode next to him. No dignitaries came out to meet him. It was mostly the common people who welcomed him that day.


“Then what would you have me do with Creator Sets Free (Jesus), who is called the Chosen One?” he asked them. With one voice they shouted, “Nail him to the cross!”


He had a reputation among the people, both small and great, that he was the power of the Great Spirit.


There was a piece of land belonging to From the People (Publius), the chief of the island. He welcomed us into his home for three days and took care of all our needs.
