But if your hearts are full of bitter envy and selfish desires, then stop boasting and speaking lies to cover up the truth about yourselves.


Knowing this, my much-loved family members, we must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.


The head soldier ordered his men to take Small Man (Paul) back to their lodge with instructions to beat him with whips until he told them the reason the crowd was so angry with him.


The next day the soldiers let the horsemen take him further, while they returned to their lodge.

But the head officer Limping Man Who Sets Free (Claudius Lysias) came and forcefully took him out of our hands. He then ordered his accusers to come to you.
