First Nations Version

Our chief holy man and the whole council of elders are witnesses to the truth of what I say. I asked for and received written authority to give to the local Tribal Council in Silent Weaver (Damascus), with instructions to capture any followers of the Way and take them to Village of Peace (Jerusalem) to be punished.

As the sun began to rise, the Grand Council of elders, along with the head holy men and the scroll keepers, all came together. They brought Creator Sets Free (Jesus) into the council house.


They did what they were told and went to the sacred lodge, and just as the sun was rising, they began to teach the people. When the chief holy man arrived, along with the spiritual leaders, they called together the Grand Council and the elders of the tribes of Wrestles with Creator (Israel). They sent some lodge soldiers to the local jail to have the message bearers brought before the council.


Do not neglect the spiritual gift that is in you. This gift came to you through a word of prophecy that was given when the council of elders laid their hands on you to set you in place as a spiritual leader.


“No one from the Land of Promise (Judea) has come with a bad report,” they said to him, “nor have we received any written message about you from them.


“On one of these journeys I was on my way to Silent Weaver (Damascus) with the full approval and authority of the head holy men.


In Village of Peace (Jerusalem), I obtained permission from the head holy men to capture and put many of Creator’s holy ones into prison. Not only that, but I voted against them when they were being killed.


“My fellow Tribal Members, my fathers,” he said, “hear me now as I explain myself to you.”


“My fellow members of the sacred family, descendants of Father of Many Nations (Abraham), and all who have deep respect for the Great Spirit, it is to all of us that this message has been given. This is a message that will set us free and make us whole.


The head holy men have given him the authority to put in prison all who call upon your name.”


On the following day the headmen, elders, and scroll keepers held a council in Village of Peace (Jerusalem).


This group had grown into one big family, about a hundred and twenty of them, who all trusted in Creator Sets Free (Jesus), that he was the Chosen One. There were now only eleven message bearers. Speaks Well Of (Judas), the one who betrayed Creator Sets Free (Jesus), was no longer among them. Since Creator Sets Free (Jesus) chose twelve message bearers to represent the twelve tribes of Wrestles with Creator (Israel), someone had to be chosen to replace him. So during this time Stands on the Rock (Peter) stood up to speak.


Then he said, “My fellow Tribal Members, there is no doubt that our ancestor, Much Loved One (David), died and was buried long ago. His burial cave is with us to this very day.


“Fellow Tribal Members,” he said, “I understand that neither you nor your leaders knew what they were doing when they had Creator Sets Free (Jesus)killed.


Small Man (Paul) looked deeply into the eyes of the members of the Grand Council. “My fellow Tribal Members,” he said to the council, “All my life I have walked in a good way, with a pure heart before the Great Spirit.”


Small Man (Paul), knowing that both the Upright Ones (Sadducees) and the Separated Ones (Pharisees) sat on the Grand Council, said to them, “My fellow Tribal Members, I am a Separated One (Pharisee). It is because of my hope that the dead will rise to life again that I am on trial here today.”


In all our gathering houses I violently punished them, trying to force them to speak against Creator Sets Free (Jesus). Like a threatening storm I took out my anger on them, even pursuing them to faraway places.


Three days later Small Man (Paul) asked to meet with the local tribal leaders. When they had gathered together, he told them the story of what had happened to him. He stood there in chains under the guard of a soldier of the People of Iron (Romans). Yet he spoke with dignity as he faced the leaders of his own people. “Fellow Tribal Members,” he said to them, “I have done nothing against our people or the traditions of our ancestors, but even so I was arrested in Village of Peace (Jerusalem) and handed over to the People of Iron (Romans).


You have heard the story of how I used to walk as a traditional Tribal Member. I was becoming a leader in my tribal nation and was following our tribal traditions far ahead of anyone else my age. You also heard how with great fury I hunted down and brought harm to Creator’s sacred family.


I was so on fire for our law that I hunted down and brought harm to the sacred family. When it came to doing what is right according to our tribal law, I was faultless.
