Acts 21:24First Nations VersionGo and join with them in this vow and provide for the shaving of their heads. In this way you will show everyone that these rumors are false and that you still walk in our traditional tribal law.” This was the Law of Dedication (Nazarite). The men and women who make this solemn vow to the Great Spirit must drink no wine, vinegar, or strong drink, and eat no grapes or the juice of grapes. Among other things, they also must not touch a dead person, or cut their hair or beard during all the days of this vow. The vow must be kept for at least thirty days. After the days of the vow are complete, they must shave their heads in a holy ceremony at the sacred lodge in Village of Peace (Jerusalem). He Leads the Way (James) continued giving instructions to Small Man (Paul). See the chapter |
After staying there for a number of days, Small Man (Paul) said farewell to the sacred family. Then he, along with Lives Long (Priscilla) and Strong Eagle (Aquila), set off by water to Bright Sun (Syria). At Small Seed Village (Cenchreae) Small Man (Paul) ceremonially shaved his head because he had made a solemn promise.
When I am among my own Tribal Members, like them I honor our traditions that I might win them over to the good story. To the ones who are under the law, I come under the law when among them, even though I am no longer under our tribal law. I do this to gain their respect and win them over to the good story.
From Village of Peace (Jerusalem) He Leads the Way (James) sent some men to Stands Against (Antioch). Before they came, Stands on the Rock (Cephas-Peter) would sit and eat withthe sacred family members from the Outside Nations. But after those men came, he separated himself from the sacred family members from the Outside Nations, for he was afraid of what these Tribal Members might think of him. Stands on the Rock (Cephas-Peter) was not remaining true to what the Great Spirit had shown him in a sacred vision.
