I learned that he was being accused of matters relating to their own tribal laws, but nothing deserving death or imprisonment.


but instead their accusations were about their own spiritual ways and about a man named Creator Sets Free (Jesus), who was dead but who Small Man (Paul) said was alive.


Teachers like this think they know it all, but they really understand nothing. There is a sickness in the way they think. They argue over the meaning of words, which takes people down a path of envy, fighting, name-calling, and evil mistrust of each other.


But stay away from foolish arguments about ancestors, from things that cause division, and from conflicts about our tribal law. Arguments like these are worthless and will not help anyone.


Have nothing to do with foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they stir up further arguments.


and to turn away from stories with no meaning and from long ancestral histories. These things only cause arguments and confuse people instead of helping them to trust in the good road of the Great Spirit.


mainly because you know so well how we disagree about many of our tribal traditions. So I humbly ask that you listen to me with patience.

He washed his hands in a vessel of water in front of all the people and said, “This man’s blood is not on my hands. It is on yours!”


Spear of the Great Waters (Pilate) said to them. “Use your own law to decide what to do.” “Our tribal law will not permit us to put him to death,” they answered.


“I have done wrong!” he told them. “I have betrayed the blood of an innocent man.” “What do we care?” they said back to him. “You did this to yourself.”


“This man is convincing people to serve the Great Spirit in ways that go against our tribal law,” they accused.
