Why would any of our people find it impossible to believe that the Great Spirit raises the dead?


Some traditional wisdom seekers also argued with him. Others wondered, “What is this talking head saying?” while others said, “He seems to be talking about strange and powerful spirits.” They said this because he was telling them the good story about Creator Sets Free (Jesus) and his rising from the dead.


For the Great Spirit is speaking to you through the Sacred Teachings, “At the right time I heard your cry, and I set you free on the day you needed my help.” Behold! Now is the right time, and today is the day to be set free.


but instead their accusations were about their own spiritual ways and about a man named Creator Sets Free (Jesus), who was dead but who Small Man (Paul) said was alive.


They talked back and forth about Creator’s right ways, about self-control, and about the judgment that was to come. But Happy Man (Felix) became afraid. “Leave me for now,” he said. “I will send for you when I have more time to talk.”


But others in the crowd just laughed and said, “They are drunk on new wine!”


We look like sacred clowns for the Chosen One, but you are seen as his wisdom keepers! You seem powerful, while we are seen as weak.


because he has chosen a day when he will decide, for all people, who has done right and who has done wrong. He has chosen a man who will do this and has shown all people who he is by bringing him back to life again from the dead.”


But one by one they all began to make excuses. “One said, ‘I must go and tend to my new field. Please excuse me.’


But we tell the good story about the Chosen One, who died on a tree-pole—the cross. This message puts a stumbling stone in the path of our Tribal People and is nothing but foolishness to the Outside Nations.


‘Watch out, you who laugh and scorn! You will die in your amazement, for I am doing something you will not believe even when you are told that it has happened!’”


So then, let us join him outside the camp, sharing in the same kind of disrespect and shame that he suffered.


Some were insulted and mocked, whipped with leather straps, or chained and thrown into prison.


The soldiers offered Creator Sets Free (Jesus) wine mixed with bitter herbs


Chief Looks Brave (Herod) mocked him along with his soldiers. They dressed him in a fancy robe and sent him back to the People of Iron (Romans).


The soldiers who were guarding Creator Sets Free (Jesus) began to mock and beat him with their fists.


So Small Man (Paul) went on his way.


So then, if the good story tells us that the Chosen One has risen from the dead, how can any among you say there will be no rising from the dead?
