Do not forget to be kind and welcoming to strangers, for in this way some have welcomed spirit-messengers without knowing it.

So it is up to us to help them on their way. In this way, we share together with them in making known the truth.


My much-loved brother, it is good that you keep treating the traveling members of our sacred family so well, even though they are strangers to you.


I have written this short letter to you by the hand of Forest Walker (Silvanus). He is a spiritual brother whom I count as trustworthy. With a few strong words, I have told you the truth about the gift of Creator’s great kindness. So stand firm in this truth!


So if you think of me as a fellow traveler on the good road, then welcome him the same way you would welcome me.


It is right for me to think of you in this way, for you hold a warm place in my heart. You have shared with me in the gift of Creator’s great kindness, both in my chains and when I stand on the truth of the good story.

So then, whenever we are able, we should do good to everyone, and most of all to the members of our sacred family.


I may be acting like a fool, but you are to be blamed for it. You should have shown honor to me, for I am no less a message bearer than these puffed-up ones, even though I am nothing.


The love shown to us by the Chosen One has taken hold of our hearts, because we know that if one has died for all human beings, then all of us died.


Glad Heart (Gaius), who has opened his home not only to me but to all the sacred family, greets you. Much Desired (Erastus), who keeps track of the money pouch for the village, and Fourth Born (Quartus), a member of the sacred family, also greet you.


If any of these people come to you who do not agree with this teaching, do not welcome them to stay in your home or greet them as members of the sacred family.


A man named Curly Hair (Crispus), who was headman of the gathering house, put his trust in our Honored Chief, and both he and his family participated in the purification ceremony. When others who lived in Village of Pleasure (Corinth) heard about this, they also believed and participated in the purification ceremony.


He instructed them to stop the carriage, and they both waded out into the water, and Lover of Horses (Philip) performed the purification ceremony for him.


But when Lover of Horses (Philip) told them about Creator’s good road and the name and reputation of Creator Sets Free (Jesus) the Chosen One, both men and women put their trust in him and participated in the purification ceremony.


“So he told the messenger, ‘Go out to the mountain trails, look behind all the bushes, and urge them to come, so that my house may be filled with people.


If you welcome a prophet for who he is, you will receive the honor he brings. If you welcome a goodhearted person, you will receive the good that he brings.


They came admitting to their bad hearts and broken ways and participated in the purification ceremony.


“Put your trust in Creator Sets Free (Jesus), our Honored Chief,” they said to him. “He will make you whole and set you and all your family free to follow him.”


He then invited them into his home and fed them. His heart was glad because he and all his family had put their trust in the Great Spirit.
