Little Horn (Cornelius) could only stare at the spirit-messenger and tremble with fear. “What is it you want, Honored One?” he asked the messenger. “Your prayers and gifts of kindness have been remembered. They have risen like sweet-smelling smoke to the Great Spirit.

Do not let your hearts be weighed down with anything. Instead, with every step you take, send your voice to the Great Spirit, asking him for the things you need. And in all your prayers remember to give him thanks.


The Great Spirit will not fail to do what is right. He will not forget how hard you have worked and how much love you have shown in representing him. He sees how you have served his holy ones, in the past and even now.

And do not forget to do good and share with those who are in need, for these are also sacrificial gifts that make Creator’s heart glad.


Bitter Tears (Mary) was deeply troubled by this greeting and wondered what the spirit-messenger would say.
