You have lifted up our hearts. For when Big Man (Titus) told us of the joy he felt when you refreshed his spirit, our hearts were also filled with joy.

But the Great Spirit, who lifts up the downcast, lifted our hearts by sending Big Man (Titus) to us.


Keep your eyes wide open. Stand firm in the faith. Be brave and strong.


If one part of the body hurts, the whole body hurts. If one part of the body is honored, the whole body celebrates.


Then, with the help of your prayers, and by the will of the Great Spirit, I will come to Village of Iron (Rome). Then with a glad heart I will be refreshed as we sit together with good food and much talk!


I have some last things to say to all of you. Walk side by side in harmony with each other. Try to feel what others feel. Love each other as family. Be tenderhearted and walk with a humble spirit.


Yes, I am asking you to do this for me as a brother in the family of our Honored Chief. Then you will make this old heart glad in the Chosen One.


May our Honored Chief show kindness to the family of Bringer of Good Things (Onesiphorus), for he was like a drink of cool water to me and was never ashamed to visit me in prison.


This is the reason I so desire to send Walks with Beauty (Epaphroditus) to you, so that, when you see him, your heart will be glad and my own heart will be free from worry.


His care for you has grown even deeper as he remembers the great respect you showed him when he came to you, and how willing you were to follow all of his instructions.


But my spirit was restless when I did not find Big Man (Titus) there, for he is like a brother to me. So I left there and journeyed on my way to look for Big Man (Titus) in Land of Tall People (Macedonia). Small Man (Paul) tells us later in this letter that he went to Land of Tall People (Macedonia) with some fellow travelers. When he did not find Big Man (Titus) there, he continued to be restless and even argued with his fellow travelers. But Big Man (Titus) finally arrived, making the heart of Small Man (Paul) glad!


I have written this letter so that when I come to you it will be a time of rejoicing instead of sadness. I am sure you also want the same thing.


Dance with the ones who dance for joy, and shed tears with the ones whose hearts have fallen to the ground.


My spirit has been renewed by them in the same way they have renewed yours. You should make sure men like these are given the honor they deserve.


I am not ashamed that I bragged about you to Big Man (Titus). For in the same way that we have always spoken truth to you, what we told him about you has also proven to be true.


The love you have shown toward others, my much-loved spiritual brother, has encouraged me and made my heart glad and has refreshed the hearts of Creator’s holy ones.
