1 Timothy 3:3First Nations VersionThey must not be heavy drinkers, nor given to violence, but gentle peacemakers who are free from the love of possessions. See the chapter |
I, He Shows Goodwill (John), am your brother in the sacred family and one who walks a path of suffering with you as we walk the good road with firm steps following Creator Sets Free (Jesus) the Chosen One. I had been banished to the island called Walking Place (Patmos) because I had spoken the truth about Creator Sets Free (Jesus) and his message from the Great Spirit.
Sorrow and trouble are coming their way! They are following in the footsteps of Spear Maker (Cain), who out of anger and jealousy killed his own brother. In their longing for more possessions they have given themselves over to the greedy ways of People Destroyer (Balaam), a prophet who would have brought a curse on Creator’s people for pay. And like Baldheaded Man (Korah), who led an uprising against Drawn from the Water (Moses), they will come to the same bad end.
“It is written from the words of the prophets,” he cried out, “‘My lodge will be called a house of prayer for all nations, but you have turned it into a hideout for thieves!’” The ancient prophecies had now found their full meaning, for this was the area of the lodge called Gathering Place for the Nations. It was here that other nations could come to learn about the Great Spirit and his ways. The holy men were keeping the Outside Nations who wanted to learn of Creator’s ways from entering into this Holy Place. They were stealing the ways of the Great Spirit from the nations.
