First Nations Version

I counsel you to watch over Creator’s family like a shepherd watching over a flock of sheep. Do this willingly, as Creator wants you to, not to gain more possessions but from an honest desire to serve.

Because they represent the Great Spirit, the elders who watch over the sacred family must have a good reputation with outsiders. They must not be stubborn, hot-headed, heavy drinkers, violent, or greedy for possessions.


In the same way, those who have the sacred task of helping others must walk in an honorable way, not be double-tongued, nor heavy drinkers, and not greedy for possessions.


Remind the sacred family members to give way to the powers and authorities that rule the land. They must follow their laws and be ready to do any good deed.


They must not be heavy drinkers, nor given to violence, but gentle peacemakers who are free from the love of possessions.


What nation would not care for the warriors who fight to keep them safe? Who plants a vineyard and is not permitted to eat fruit from it? Who watches over a flock of sheep and does not drink from its milk?


Because of their greed, they will use made-up stories to prey on you for their own gain. Their punishment for this that was spoken of long ago is not sleeping. It is still coming and will not fail to bring them to a bad end.


See to it that no one among you misses out on the gift of Creator’s great kindness and that no bitter root springs up among you, making trouble and poisoning many hearts.


These men must be silenced, for they are troubling whole families by teaching wrong things. They are behaving like tricksters using people for their own gain.


Do not fear, for even though you are a small flock, it makes your Father’s heart glad to give you the good road!


But I do not want to do anything unless you agree to it. In this way, you will help me willingly and not because you think you must.


He paid the highest price to set us free from all our wrongdoings and purify for himself a people whose hearts burn with fire to do good deeds.


And now I am able and ready to tell the good story to you who live in Village of Iron (Rome).


“Why are you weeping and breaking my heart?” he said to them. “I am representing our Honored Chief, Creator Sets Free (Jesus). I am ready not only to be bound but even to die for him in Village of Peace (Jerusalem).”


“I know that after I am gone savage wolves will sneak in who care nothing for the sheep.
