1 John 4:1First Nations VersionMy much-loved friends, do not trust every spirit, but test the spirits of the prophets to see whether Creator sent them, for there are many false prophets who have gone out into the world. See the chapter |
But just as there were false prophets among the people of tribes of Wrestles with Creator (Israel), there will also be false teachers among you. They will sneak into your gatherings and teach things that are harmful to our spiritual ways. They will even deny the Honored One who paid a great price to set them free. In doing so, they will quickly bring ruin down on their own heads.
I know what you have been doing, how hard you have worked, and the rough path you have walked with firm steps. I also know that you do not put up with evil and worthless ways. You have put to the test the ones who falsely call themselves message bearers and have proven them to be liars who speak with forked tongues.
The Holy Spirit gives to one person miraculous powers, to another the power to speak Creator’s words. To another the Spirit gives the ability to tell good spirits from bad ones. To another the Spirit gives the ability to speak in different languages, and to another the ability to interpret those languages.
