At my first council hearing, no one spoke up for me and everyone left me alone. May this not be counted against them.


The others, who are filled with jealousy and bitterness, tell about the Chosen One with crooked hearts and out of a selfish desire to cause trouble for me while I am a captive in chains.


It is right for me to think of you in this way, for you hold a warm place in my heart. You have shared with me in the gift of Creator’s great kindness, both in my chains and when I stand on the truth of the good story.


I am writing this letter to you while I am away, so that I will not have to speak sharp words like this when I come to you. Instead, I want to use the power our Honored Chief has given me to build you up, not to tear you down.


Take a good look inside yourselves to see whether you walk true to what you believe. Put yourselves to the test. Do you know who you truly are? Do you not understand that Creator Sets Free (Jesus) the Chosen One lives in and among you? Or have you failed the test of walking true to this in your own lives?


You who seek proof that the Chosen One is speaking through me will get all the proof you need. Do not think that the Chosen One is weak in this matter. His power is at work among you.


If anyone among you thinks of himself as a prophet, or thinks of himself to be spiritual, he should be the first to see that my instructions come from our Honored Chief.


I informed them that the laws of the People of Iron (Romans) would not permit me to hand over anyone until they could stand face to face with their accusers and make a defense for themselves.


“My fellow Tribal Members, my fathers,” he said, “hear me now as I explain myself to you.”


“When they drag you into their gathering houses and before government rulers, do not worry how to defend yourselves or what to say.


Others may not see me as a message bearer, but I must be in your eyes. You are the proof that our Honored Chief has chosen me.


Do we message bearers not have the right to expect food and drink from you?
