But you, my sacred family members, have been called to walk in freedom. Do not use this freedom to walk in weak and broken human ways. Instead, walk in love and serve each other.


Do this as a people who have been set free, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil ways. Instead, walk out your freedom as willing servants of the Great Spirit.


They promise them freedom, but they are themselves slaves to evil desires, for people are slaves to whatever controls them.


So then, no one should seek only what is good for oneself, but also what brings good to others.


Walk softly in a manner that will not offend Tribal Members or Wisdom Seekers (Greeks) or anyone who belongs to the sacred family of the Great Spirit.


When I am among those who are poor and weak, I join with them in their struggle. I look for common ground with everyone, so that I can tell them the good story that will make them whole and set them free.


When you wrong family members in this way, you have wounded them in their weakness, and you have done the same to the Chosen One.


If these weak family members were to see you eating in a lodge dedicated to a spirit-image, they might find strength in the moment to go along with you and eat this food, even though they feel deep inside that it is wrong to do so.


But even so, I have a few things against you: Some among you walk in the teachings of People Destroyer (Balaam), who instructed People Swallower (Balak) to put stumbling stones before the children of Wrestles with Creator (Israel). He tempted them to ceremonially eat food that had been offered to spirit-images and to give themselves to sexual impurity.


Shame on me! I was not strong enough to treat you so badly! But if others can boldly brag—I speak like a fool—I dare to brag just as much.


So we who are strong in our spiritual ways should be willing to lend a shoulder to the ones who are weak and unable to walk this road with firm steps. For this road is not only for our own good,


“So do not look down on even one of these little ones, for their spirit-messengers in the spirit-world above always look upon the face of my Father, the one who is above us all.


But if they say to you, “This food has been offered to spirit-images,” do not eat it. Not because you think it is wrong to eat, but for the sake of the one who told you. But someone might say, “Why is my freedom to eat being decided by what someone else thinks is right or wrong?


We walk in a way that will make no one else stumble, so that no one has a reason to talk bad about our sacred task.


I feel the weakness of any who are weak. I burn with fire in my inner being every time someone is turned away from the good road.


Make sure no one steals your faith from you with fine-sounding words spoken with hollow tongues. These people make up their own traditions as they follow the lying spirits of the ways of this world, instead of simply trusting in the Chosen One.
