I am thinking that the Great Spirit has put us message bearers in the worst place. We are like captured warriors being dragged through the village pathways to their death—for all to see. He is making a big show of us to all the world, to both humans and spirit-messengers.

At times the path was hard to walk, as you faced open shame and insults. At other times you walked side by side with those who were being mistreated.


It is written in our Sacred Teachings, “Because of you we face death every day. We are counted only as sheep to be violently killed.”


Are not all spirit-messengers spirits who have been sent out with the sacred task of serving those who will share in the blessings of being set free and made whole?


Some were insulted and mocked, whipped with leather straps, or chained and thrown into prison.


so that no one would be shaken by the hard times we are facing. For you know that this is the path Creator has chosen for us.


We are strangers to some but well known to others. We look as if we are dying, but look again—we live! We have been whipped and mistreated, but death has not found us.


Also, some of the village leaders who were friendly toward him sent word for him not to come into the teaching lodge.

If our hope in the Chosen One is only for this life, then we should be pitied more than all other human beings.


Are they servants of the Chosen One? Some may think I have lost my mind, but I want to brag even more! I have worked harder. I have been in prison more. I have been beaten more times than I can count. I have faced death many times.
