We may be bragging, but we are bold enough to tell you that our hearts are pure, for we have walked this road of life in a sacred and true manner. We have not followed the ways of this world, but by the gift of Creator’s great kindness we have walked in a good way before the people of this world, and even more toward you. In the same way, our words to you are as straight as an arrow. We do not speak with forked tongues in our letters to you.


For we must all stand before the council seat of the Chosen One and give an answer for what we have done in these earthly bodies—whether good or bad. Then the Chosen One will give back to each of us the honor that is due.


So do not keep deciding these kinds of things ahead of time. Instead, wait until the coming of our Honored Chief. On that day he will shine his light on the things hidden in darkness and make known the plans of all human hearts. The Knower of Hearts will then give to each person whatever honor is due.


For it is not the ones who hear the law who have good standing with Creator but the ones who do what it says.


Small Man (Paul) looked deeply into the eyes of the members of the Grand Council. “My fellow Tribal Members,” he said to the council, “All my life I have walked in a good way, with a pure heart before the Great Spirit.”


Creator Sets Free (Jesus) asked him a third time, “One Who Hears (Simon), Son of Gift of Kindness (John), do you love me as a friend?” Stands on the Rock (Peter) felt his heart sink because he asked the third time, “Do you love me as a friend?” “Wisdomkeeper!” he said, “you know all things, you must know how deeply I care for you. I am your friend!” Creator Sets Free (Jesus) said to him again, “Feed my sheep.”


If Father of Many Nations (Abraham) found good standing with Creator because he earned it by hard work, then he would be able to boast. But not in the eyes of the Great Spirit.


I am not at all troubled about how worthy you think I am, because deciding how well I have performed this sacred task is not up to you or any human council. It is not up to me to decide how well I have done.
