So it does not matter who plants or who waters. What matters is the one who makes the plants grow.

“I am the vine and you are the branches. The ones who stay joined to me will grow much fruit, for without me nothing grows.


The people who see themselves as something when they are nothing have become their own trickster.


“The gift of my great kindness will give you the strength you need,” our Honored Chief said to me. “For the greatness of my power comes to the ones who understand how weak they are.” So then, I am glad to brag even more about how weak I am, so it can be clearly seen that the power resting on me comes from the Chosen One.


I may have prophetic powers and the ability to see into sacred mysteries and understand all things. I might even have faith strong enough to make mountains move. But if I fail to love, I am nothing.


I planted the seed, and He Tears Down (Apollos) watered it, but it was the Great Spirit who made it grow.


The one who plants and the one who waters both share the same purpose, and each will be honored according to how well they have served.


I may be acting like a fool, but you are to be blamed for it. You should have shown honor to me, for I am no less a message bearer than these puffed-up ones, even though I am nothing.
