First Nations Version

When you gather on the first day of the week, take from as much as you have been blessed with and set it aside. Keep it in a safe place until I come. In this way no offerings will need to be taken when I come.

It was the first day of the week, when we gather to eat our sacred meal together. Small Man (Paul) was doing the talking because he planned to leave the next day. He was long-winded and kept talking until the middle of the night.


“If Creator cannot trust you with the possessions of this world, then how will he trust you with the treasures of the spirit-world above? But if you do well with the small things of this world, you will do well with the great things of the spirit-world above.


I was taken up into the spirit world on the day we gather in honor of our Great Chief. I heard a loud voice from behind me that sounded like an eagle bone whistle.


It was now late in the same day, the first day of the week. His followers were all hiding behind locked doors in fear of being captured by the tribal leaders. Suddenly, Creator Sets Free (Jesus) himself was standing in front of them and said, “Peace be with you!”


It was now sunrise on the first day of the week. The women who had prepared the spices and oils were on their way to the burial cave.


Eight days later his followers were gathered together again, and Looks Like His Brother (Thomas) was with them. The doors were all locked, but Creator Sets Free (Jesus) came in and stood before them all. “Peace be with you,” he said.


This is her gift to me, to prepare me for my burial.


The reason I give you this counsel is to help you finish what you started to do last year. You were the first to be willing to help,
