Let a righteous man strike me—it is a kindness; let him rebuke me—it is oil for my head; let my head not refuse it. Yet my prayer is continually against their evil deeds.

A fool despises his father’s instruction, but whoever heeds reproof is prudent.

The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the Lord has made them both.

Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you.

The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil.

So Aaron said to them, “Take off the rings of gold that are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them to me.”

So they came, both men and women. All who were of a willing heart brought brooches and earrings and signet rings and armlets, all sorts of gold objects, every man dedicating an offering of gold to the Lord.

“You daughters of Israel, weep over Saul, who clothed you luxuriously in scarlet, who put ornaments of gold on your apparel.

Gold and glass cannot equal it, nor can it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.

It is better for a man to hear the rebuke of the wise than to hear the song of fools.

And I put a ring on your nose and earrings in your ears and a beautiful crown on your head.
