Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart.

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.”

And he said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God.

There are those who are clean in their own eyes but are not washed of their filth.

“I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”

If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?

For he flatters himself in his own eyes that his iniquity cannot be found out and hated.

For a man’s ways are before the eyes of the Lord, and he ponders all his paths.

There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.

Tekel, you have been weighed in the balances and found wanting;

The path of the righteous is level; you make level the way of the righteous.

and I will strike her children dead. And all the churches will know that I am he who searches mind and heart, and I will give to each of you according to your works.
