how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation? It was declared at first by the Lord, and it was attested to us by those who heard,

“Son of man, behold, I am about to take the delight of your eyes away from you at a stroke; yet you shall not mourn or weep, nor shall your tears run down.

Will your cry for help avail to keep you from distress, or all the force of your strength?

And the Lord said, “Do you do well to be angry?”

But God said to Jonah, “Do you do well to be angry for the plant?” And he said, “Yes, I do well to be angry, angry enough to die.”
