Oh, that I knew where I might find him, that I might come even to his seat!
that he would argue the case of a man with God, as a son of man does with his neighbor.
But I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to argue my case with God.
Since therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news failed to enter because of disobedience,
“Though our iniquities testify against us, act, O Lord, for your name’s sake; for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against you.
In the path of your judgments, O Lord, we wait for you; your name and remembrance are the desire of our soul.
“Today also my complaint is bitter; my hand is heavy on account of my groaning.
I would lay my case before him and fill my mouth with arguments.
My friends scorn me; my eye pours out tears to God,
Truly, you are a God who hides himself, O God of Israel, the Savior.
