Exodus 12:29

At midnight the Lord struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of the livestock.

Then they drew Jeremiah up with ropes and lifted him out of the cistern. And Jeremiah remained in the court of the guard.

So they took Jeremiah and cast him into the cistern of Malchiah, the king’s son, which was in the court of the guard, letting Jeremiah down by ropes. And there was no water in the cistern, but only mud, and Jeremiah sank in the mud.

He who is bowed down shall speedily be released; he shall not die and go down to the pit, neither shall his bread be lacking.

They will be gathered together as prisoners in a pit; they will be shut up in a prison, and after many days they will be punished.

In a moment they die; at midnight the people are shaken and pass away, and the mighty are taken away by no human hand.

for all the firstborn are mine. On the day that I struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated for my own all the firstborn in Israel, both of man and of beast. They shall be mine: I am the Lord.”

And the next day the Lord did this thing. All the livestock of the Egyptians died, but not one of the livestock of the people of Israel died.

Then the people of Israel went and did so; as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.

He made a path for his anger; he did not spare them from death, but gave their lives over to the plague.

Before him went pestilence, and plague followed at his heels.

But I will bring judgment on the nation that they serve, and afterward they shall come out with great possessions.

The Lord said to Moses, “Yet one plague more I will bring upon Pharaoh and upon Egypt. Afterward he will let you go from here. When he lets you go, he will drive you away completely.

Behold, all who are incensed against you shall be put to shame and confounded; those who strive against you shall be as nothing and shall perish.
