For he that serves Christ in these things is well pleasing to God and approved by men.

It is like a man going away on a journey, having left his house and having given authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper that he should watch.

And if anyone serve Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant shall be also. If anyone serve Me, him My Father will honor.

But in every nation, he that fears Him and works righteousness is acceptable to Him.

not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;

Who are you to judge another's servant? To his own master he stands or he falls. And he shall be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.

For such people do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and through smooth speech and flattering, they deceive the hearts of the innocent.

But now having been freed from sin, and having become enslaved to God, you have your fruit resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.

For he who is called in the Lord while a slave is the Lord's free man. Likewise he who is called as a free man is Christ's slave.

but we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor falsifying the word of God, but by the disclosure of the truth, commending ourselves to every man's conscience before God.

Knowing, therefore, the fear of the Lord, we persuade men; but we have been made known to God. And I also hope to have been made known in your consciences.

Therefore also we have as our ambition, whether being at home, or being away from home, to be well pleasing to Him.

but in everything commending ourselves as ministers of God: in much endurance, in tribulations, in hardships, in distresses,

having regard for honorable things, not only before the Lord, but also before men.

And I have all things and abound. I have been made full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.

Finally, brothers, as many things as are true, as many as are honorable, as many as are just, as many as are pure, as many as are lovely--if there is any virtue and if there is any praise--meditate on these things.

knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. For you serve the Lord Christ.

For this is good and acceptable before God our Savior,

But if a certain widow has children or grandchildren, let them first learn to show piety to their own household and to make repayment to their parents; for this is acceptable before God.

having your manner of life noble among the Gentiles, so that, whenever they speak against you as evildoers, when they observe the good works, they may glorify God in the day of visitation.

For what glory is it, if when you sin and are beaten, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it, you endure, this is admirable before God.

you also, as living stones, are being built into a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

having a good conscience, so that in what they speak against you as evildoers, those reviling your good conduct in Christ may be put to shame.
