And throwing the silver coins in the sanctuary, he departed; and going away, he hanged himself.

and said, "This Man said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God, and after three days to rebuild it.' "

But the chief priests, taking the silver coins said, "It is not lawful to put them into the temple treasury, since they are the price of blood."

And the people waited for Zacharias, and they marveled at his delaying in the temple.

according to the custom of the priesthood, he was selected to burn incense when he entered into the temple of the Lord.
